Have you tried to do a repair of avast?
Also what is your avast version and operating system?

I have recently been getting this issue where the fix now button doesn't turn on. You get the warning system about allowing it to run. The only way I have been abled to fix this is unistal and re install it is rather a pain to have to do that all the time. So far I have had to reinstal Avast  6 times. The Fix Now butt just doesn't work.
