Site Blocking inconsistant with SBC Small Business Console BUG
« on: January 30, 2012, 06:49:11 PM »
I posted last week under an old topic. I am looking for input from others to find a more consistant way.  I want to know what works, what doesn't work and what is inconsistant.

We are entering URLs in the SBC within avast! Business Protection and then pushing "Site Blocking" to the clients. Here is my experience at this point:

http://www.myspace.com;http://www.facebook.com;http://www.youtube.com - NO BLOCKING SBC#1

*myspace.com*;*facebook.com*;*youtube.com* - Only blocks 1st URL from SBC#1, but blocks all URL's when entered into a non-managed client.

*myspace.com* *facebook.com* - Successful block from SBC#1

*myspace.com* *facebook.com* *youtube.com* - NO block from SBC#1

http://www.myspace.com*;http://www.facebook.com*;http://www.youtube.com* - Successful Block on my SBC#1, blocks all URL's @ non-managed client.

http://???.facebook.com*;http://???.youtube.com* - Successful Block on SBC#2.

http://*.facebook.com*;http://*.youtube.com*;http://*.myspace.com*;http://*.slacker.com* -  Successful Block on SBC#2

So, we were able to get both SBCs to work, even though what workeed on SBC #1 did not work on SBC #2

Sincerely,
