I just now reinstalled avast from the shop and although he was active option icon for notification, it will not appear on the bar. I had to turn it back on from settings ...

ICS is still not officially supported so yeah, it might be ICS specific (since I didn't see any report from users with 2.x).

Filip

what do you recommend? do I uninstall it? DavidR has my own smartphone but do not have this problem ...

We will take a look at it at some time.

Can you tell me what other applications you have installed? (You can skip the stock apps.)

OK, I'll take a look at them and will see if any of them could by any chance interfere with AMS.

The experimental support is somehow not mentioned there for 3.x and 4.x, sorry.

i have an htc sensation xe (rooted) with ics 4.03 installed. the notification icon disappeared over night as well. i had to uncheck and re-check the "show notification icon" to put it back on.

We are looking at it, but thanks for the report. I'm actually glad it happens on rooted devices as well :)

Hi everyone,

I think I found the issue with the disappearing notification icon. It's a bug in ICS, not in AMS :( We'll try to fix it so hopefully the icon won't cause any troubles anymore. Also note that even when the icon disappears on ICS, the application using the icon is still running the same way as it is with the icon displayed, so no functionality broken or denied in that case.

That's good news, as it has just started happening again on my Nexus 4.0.2. But not on a regular basis, just occasionally after coming out of a period of inactivity.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.3.6108 (build 24.3.8975.762) UI 1.0.801/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

Filip, mine disappears also. But I confirm that the application was running in background.

Hi folks  :)
Is any chance to make notification icon a little bit smaller ? Currently on my HTC Sensation it looks like this:

Similar size to the icon of 3G WatchDog would look better IMHO :)
