Upgraded to xp home edition and lost "A" in task bar.

I upgraded from win98SE to xp home edition and since then i have lost the "A" down in the task bar. It doesn't appear to run in the back ground after starting either? Can someone help me... Thanks...

hi and welcome to the forums
this will need a re-install of avast as well and this time there is no need to divert your mail to avast as it finds it automatically on NT based OS
