I have a new idea for avast!
« on: November 10, 2012, 08:05:51 AM »
Hey avast! and my friends I have a small idea for avast! 8.
How about a virtual keyboard for avast! users which can prevent keyloggers even for free users. At present safezone is only available to paid users which boasts the keylogging protection while the free users are left :( but yes I think the virtual key board will fill that Gap.

with regards,
Ajey

Why when there is a virtual keyboard built in to the OS ?

Just type osk (on screen keyboard) into the Run window (Windows key+R).

This is the one in XP and win7.

Well that's a point but most of the people don't know this especially the novice ones.So we can make this feature more transparent by adding it to avast! and also protect users from keyloggers :)

This would probably be great with a touch screen but without one, it's a pain to use. :)

The same would be true for the virtual keyboard that is being suggested as an inclusion in avast.

There are tons of features already available to a user and starting to fill avast full of cr4p (read non-related utilities) really is bloat.

Including a virtual keyboard is a bad idea. The OS has a virtual keyboard.

If you want a free program you can use

Spyshelter Free

http://www.spyshelter.com

Or

Zemana AntiLogger Free

http://www.zemana.com

Both of them have paid versions as well.

Novice users? Thats too novice to be novice if you ask me. Windows 8 devices have touch screen and a default virtual keyboard which shows up all the time.

Many free third party firewalls offer anti-keylogger protection already.
IMHO I see this as a redundancy more than being worthwhile.  :)

Well i thought it would help avast! users from keyloggers easily within a same antivirus which is highly trusted instead of 3rd party programs.... :)

The problem being you end up with tons of junk included in avast that aren't directly anti-virus related. Yours is just one of the many suggestions, if they were all followed avast really would be considered bloatware.
