Why does version 7 feels slower for some reason? Quick scan used to be faster using same settings. And also on-access seems a bit sluggish on some occasions. Were there any changes done to the caching mechanism? Or the scan engine or it's heuristics (that would slow it down)?
It happened for me too. Sluggish is the minimum. I'll try the new beta now.
Also, with the old beta, I need to disable WebShield to browse. Firewall, of course, AIS (and W7).

In the "Subscription" section I miss the "Company" name of the owner of the license.

What browser are you using?
I see some severe performance problems related to the Chrome WebRep plugin. Try disabling it and see if it helps.

Thanks

Firefox 10 on Win 7 Pro 32 bits.
On contrary, Chrome was better before.
Do I need to uninstall the reserved beta before installing the public one?

I'm using Firefox. But the slowness isn't limited to browser. I'd say it's the most noticeable compared to version 6 when i download an installer (doesn't have to be that big, 50MB for example). Whole thing will just stall for a bit where with v6, i hardly noticed it. Quick scan is slower MB/s per MB/s (and as a result also takes a bit longer).

Attempted install. Perfect on one computer but on second one got the attached messages.

Any ideas?

Was there a previous version of Avast installed on that computer or the computer
was clean before installing? Thanks, P.

Quick Scan takes about twice as long on my system compared to the latest version of Avast 6, takes around 20 seconds now, compared to around 10 seconds on Avast 6. I'm using a SATA 6Gb/s SSD if anyone wonders why the fast scan speeds.

The prebeta was installed over 6. This new file was installed over that.

OK, that's the reason. Please try uninstall the prebeta and install again.

I am going to but I must remind you that the same applies to the other computer and it is fine. :)

avast! 7.0.1396 works like a charm here, except for WebRep in Chrome. Updated from closed-beta build. Outlook 2010 seems to be a little bit slower since avast! 7.

btw...for german users...release notes translated here.

The new UI is awesome and all works fine. But please add an option to remove a group of firewall rules instead of removing all one by one  :D

Installed V7.1396 directly over V6.1367 with absolutely no problems!!  ;D ;D
As usual....very fine job on this beta release.
Thanks to all Avast! folks.  ;)
