Really, unless you made that video yourself (I assume that is what you are talking about) then you have to take it with a grain of salt.  There is too much room for abuse.  I saw no cross-reference in which those ~5000 samples got flagged by anything at all......could have easily been benign.  Not to mention, scanning 5k supposedly infected files from right-click is not any kind of real-world test.

Also, it he appeared to be disconnected from the Web for that, so it is no good assessment of the cloud features at all.

And right before he scans the folder.....notice the red X over the Avast! icon.

Well the X means there are resident shields turned off... That's cuz avast! have to not reporting files before scanning folder.... And yes you are totally right about cloud features - he is disconnected from net so also from cloud

slow scans, only happens when you upgrade from V6, otherwise not. Must be something wrong going on with the persistence cache happening during the upgrade process... .... never happens after a clean install.

Not true in my case.  Slow scans with completely clean install.

Installing avast! 7 from scratch :) I do really like the UI of setup program. But installation progress bar doesn't give any idea about setup progress.

Cheers...

Just finished with installation of avast 7. UI is really awesome and now it's more responsive. But I think it's better if you give 2nd look to summary page as it feels like an empty page in Internet Security.

Love avast! :)

Cheers...

Slow scans can occur after a clean install as there may be no persistent cache, so it will take a period of time, a few scans, etc. to build that back up and see the scan times come back down.

Will this beta build auto-update to new beta builds as they are released?

Not auto-update but you should be able to use the program update feature when the next release is announce.
That's how it's always been in the past.  :)

If you get involved in a beta trial then you should monitor it in the forums, as updates would be notified here on the forums first.
