Do you have any unpXXXXX.mdmp file in C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\log folder?

no, this has happened to me with the pre-beta, not the current build. I'm on a clean install now so any previous stuff is gone. May be the poster I answered here has something...

@david the error is about a memory error from ashquick.exe during the quick scan in the end of the setup process (the OP posted a pic than you can't see apparently)

Yes there is another case of a posted image (by chocholo)  that I can't see either, so I'm guessing that there are others for obvious reasons I can't tell how widespread that is.

If that were the only forum problem it would be of limited hassle, the missing modify buttons in my posts in the General Topics, Viruses and Worms or the  avast! Free/Pro/Suite forums are a real killer.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.3.6108 (build 24.3.8975.762) UI 1.0.801/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

Heading basically says: ashQuick.ex. Application error

Actual message in the box:
The instruction at 0x7705e41b referenced memory at 0x00000500.
The memory could not be written.
Click on OK to terminate the program.

Not sure why ver 7 started acting up then would not install.  Back to using ver 6 right now.  It loaded fine from the same clean snapshot.

Update: For some reason I was able to load ver 7 over top 6 with no error message.  I guess because it didn't need to do a install scan.

"Plugins for Outlook 2k3 and 2k7 show "runtime error" message"

when will this be fixed, i have to disable the plugin to get my mail to work, and I don't like the idea of being unprotected

It's hard to post while skiing  ;)
It takes practice.
One ski on the ground, the other ski does the texting.   ;D

That's the risk of Beta testing. It was written in the first post.

It's a known problem and will be fixed before the final release of avast! 7.

I find using Avast 7 doubles my pings:

Without Avast - 16ms
With Avast - 32ms

no it doesn't have this precisely ...

... although I'm now wondering if the behavior shield (and/or the script shield) would detect an attempt from an external source to modify it ???
