Access to specified device, path or file is denied
« on: August 18, 2003, 09:07:42 PM »
Hello,

Yesterday Avast told me that a file on my computer was infected, so I choose to let avast move to file. After that avast suggested to restart my computer. After a reboot only Internet and windows explorer run for every other program on my computer I get the same messages "Access to specified device, path or file is denied". Avast doesn't start up anymore so I cannot restore the file. I do not know which file is moved. Did not write the name of the file down because i expect that the file would be in the moved folder of the avast software.

I'm using windows 2000 professional and avast4 home edition.

Someone any idea how I get my programs running again, any information would be helpfull.

Could you reach the avast folder? Is there a folder called Avast\Data\Moved there?
Which system file do you have (FAT32 or NTFS)?
