Avast Server on SBS with NoSpamToday!
« on: December 03, 2004, 04:22:15 AM »
While i realize that Avast server does not have any antispam plugins (SpamAssassin plugin would be great!) -- I am currently testing the freeware version of NoSpamToday! proxy server (http://www.nospamtoday.com/server/ ), and it requires itself to be port 25 (well, duh? for the most part, incoming email does in general) -- so i will be changing the SMTP Virtual Server port to something else on my SBS2003 server.  Will this cause a problem w/ AvastServer (v4.5xx)?  Is there a fix if there is a problem?

Let me know what you think before I try.  Has anybody had any other positive experiences w/ SPAM proxy servers on win2k-2k3/SBS2k3 w/ Avast installed?

TIA,

PetieG

Sorry for the late delay.

To answer your question: no, there should be no problem at all. The avast SMTP scanner doesn't care about port numbers.
