avast 7 slowing down my connection?

after i installed avast 7 i was downloading auslogics boostspeed usually i get 1 mb to 2 mb per second now i had 50 kb per second is this because of the streaming updates should they slow down the connection at all?

No, streaming updates will be the exception rather than the rule and they would most likely be smaller than the VPS auto update. Essentially they are signature updates for a more serious piece of malware that shouldn't wait for the next regular auto update.
