You could start with defining what you mean by, "WebRep not  working with Firefox."

It is working just fine in firefox 10.0.2.

I don't use Chrome, but the build is an issue if you aren't using the regular release of Chrome the webrep may not support it. So if you are using bleeding edge builds for Chrome (or firefox), alpha, beta or nightly builds, etc. then it might not work for you.

@ DavidR  In Firefox there are no bars at all. I have done a repair and re-boot still nothing.

Well I specifically mentioned the build of firefox I'm using as you didn't say what you are using (latest version could mean many things).

That is also why I mentioned chrome/firefox alpha/beta/nightly builds are likely to be unsupported by the webrep.

If you want weird. Try this one on for size...for me 7.0 beta 3 worked better for me.
This compares to v5.0.xxx to v5.1.xxx as in deja vu all over again.
So far 7.0.1407 has too many issues for it to be a final release, IMHO.  ???

See my OP.

I would try another install, i performed a full manual clean install myself as i find alot of leftovers that the removal tool doesn't remove.
Uninstall avast normally and reboot then go to program files and program data and delet the avast files, now run a search for avast and delet everything found then run ccleaner, finish up with going to regedit and search for avast - there's about 10 odd entries and dont worry about the legacy key's, they will be the last ones detected so then exit, reboot and reinstall

edit: Used both CCleaner and WinUtilities Free.  ???

Everything is up and running "except" Web and Mail Shields.  ???
