License question.
« on: December 07, 2004, 11:50:07 PM »
I'm after a pretty quick question, and I had a look through the main page etc trying to find the answer, but thought it'd be quicker asking here.

My question is, does the Avast! Home edition for personal computers, it says on Office computers, would that by any chance make a small church set of computers, 5 computers, qualify to use the Avast! Home edition.

Or does a copy need to be bought properly.

Also, while I'm here, does anyone know of a Virus scanner that can be used for very little charge or free on a Small Educational network?

Cheers

From the Avast website:
Quote
It's not allowed to use free avast! 4 Home Edition in non-profit organization, but we offer special discount for non-profit organization. This discount is 50% off the list price for educational and charity institution and 30% off the list price for the health and goverment institution.

Sorry, I don't really understand that sentance.

The church is a non-profit organization. Or Not so profit I think is the other term?

Does this mean I can use Avast! or I have to buy a copy.

Cheers.

A church is a non-profit organisation.

For exact details on how/what etc, you can send a email to sales@avast.com

I think non-profit organizations can only receive a discount.
They're consider, by Alwil, as a non-Home user.
Avast is only free for both Home and non-commercial.  ;)
