I realize everyone is rather busy at the moment here, but will those who wish to carry on using avast 6 be afforded some degree of protection for a while yet ?
I realize we won't get any definition updates, but being a humble pc user, I'm a little wary of updating to 7

Avast 6 should be receiving definition updates... in fact, the same ones as are provided for avast 7.   At present, my avast6 has 12-02-26-2 loaded.

Without definition updates, an antivirus would become worthless very quickly.
