AvastUI.exe-Application Error
« on: February 26, 2012, 04:26:57 PM »
Hello everyone, I updated to new version and when it rebooted I keep getting this: "Msg:AvastUI.exe-Application Error The exception unknown software exception(0xe06d7363) occurred in the application at location 0x768ab727" and when I click ok it just keeps popping up. I am running windows 7. Everything was fine till update. Nothing was changed or messed with. Thats if my wife ain't telling me something :-X and I do have a license for pro. I have tried uninstall and reinstall in safe mode with the uninstaller, and all other fixes with no luck. Any ideas would be a great help I just purchased pro like two months ago but if I'm out of luck oh well. :-\

Well I guess I'm S.O.O.L went ahead and uninstalled avast! so sad it had to end this way it was really good program till update 2-25-12  :P

Yep I upgraded my system from windows vista 64 to windows 7 64 and I have the same error message.  I too removed avast, ran registry mechanic, ran cleanup, restarted the system, then installed avast with the same results!!!

There is apparently a problem with Avast 7 and Windows 7 Home 64 bit systems.
I have a new Dell.  Downloaded & installed Avast 7 and get application error after application error.
I had to uninstall and re-install the Avast 6 version for it to work.
Avast - If you're monitoring these boards - Your new version has a HUGE bug.... Please fix asap

Anybody having the problem, can you please check if you have any recent unpXXXXXX.mdmp files in C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\log ?
(I suppose the files were removed during reinstallation of v6, so they won't be there in that case.)

I don't get the application-error-message, but I have a problem with AvastUI.exe, too, because I can't open the programm on my Windows 2000 machine after installing V7!

I don't know, if there's a relationship between these errors, but perhaps it's possible:

~SKY~, I have seen Avast 7.0.1407 in action on Win2K.
Did you try a clean install?

@Vlk

Definitively V7 doesn't work here with Windows 2000,

- NOT after an Update over the UI and

- NOT after a clean install.

In both cases and after Restart the PC:

> There's no avast!-Icon (ball) in the taskbar next to the clock

> I can't open the programm over the Desktop-Icon. Nothing happens when using AvastUI.exe!!!

I was going back to V6 with my Acronis-backup!

@avast team
Could it be, that there's a relationship between these errors or isn't it realistic to think that? :(
