I updated to version 7 then tried to download the user manual. The downloaded file was deleted because it said that a virus was detected.

Please attach an image of the warning you received.

Submit the file to virustotal.com to have it scanned with multiple av's if you can come up with the file. Please post the results here.

I downloaded the user manual at the avast GUI and it was ok. Mine is for Avast! Internet Security (quick-start-guide-v7-is-eng.pdf). What version of Avast! are you using? I also downloaded the free version user manual from the avast website and it was clean.

VirusTotal result 0/43 hxxps://www.virustotal.com/file/d47bcb1068435a0e1cb4245f761badb789f399d17899b76552acf29888a780b1/analysis/1330271127/

Maybe the problem is with adobe. Make certain Adobe Reader is fully patched with the latest updates.

Avast Free version 7.0.1407 downloaded from avast control panel both times as per Image 1. AND guess what on the second attempt (so I could get a screen shot) it downloaded without a problem. Go Figure, LOL.
