Facing same problem as previous one!!!!!!!!!!!!! Error Code 11!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(
On contrary, as it is said there, error codes 2 and 11 are sign that you don't have the update problem and things are working.

If the machine is not affected by this particular problem, the tool will report so (usually with error code 2 or 11) and won't do anything.
If you did not experience any problems updating the virus definitions in the past 24 hours, just ignore this tool - there's no point in running it.

Tech this was what was posted this afternoon

Hi,

there is newer fix [1] that should cover all the other situations where the original script reported "error code 2 or 11" althrough your avast setup was corrupted.

Please let us know if this doesn't work for you.

thank you
Lukas.

Please locate the file
Code: [Select]
C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast\Setup\part-setup_ais-57f.vpx and upload it to ftp://ftp.avast.com/incoming

First copy the file to some temporal folder (desktop if you want). Change the name of the file to something unique, as "<username>_part-setup_ais-57f.vpx". Then you can just open the mentioned FTP url in Windows Explorer and drag&drop the unique file there.
Thanks.

[EDIT]
Improved the instructions a little.

When did you download the updatefix file, as there was an update to that recently ?

What errors/notices are you getting when you run the fix ?
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.2.6105 (build 24.2.8918.824) UI 1.0.799/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

Looks like you are going to have to do a clean reinstall, probably best and more likely quicker in the long run:
Use one of the routines mentioned on page 1 of the topic, contrary you don't have to reboot twice.

OR
  • 1. Uninstall avast! (using add remove programs, if you can't do that start from the next step), reboot.
  • 2. run the avast! Uninstall Utility from safe mode, first for 6.x if previously installed and then for 7.0, once complete reboot into normal mode.
  • 3. install the latest version, reboot.

sweetalmond2010 please wait for the help to arrive in the viruses section as your system appears to have more issues than just avast and posting all over the forum is just confusing people.
