Where to download Avast 6 - Avast 7 is too buggy at present

I unfortunately updated to the new version of Avast 7, however it's too buggy and I want to go back to version 6 which worked ok on my Win XP/SP3 system.
Does anyone have a download link to the older Avast 6 version?

Tried that link, but even though the page says it's the 6.0.1367 version, when you actually come to download the file and R-click>Properties, it's the 7.0.1407.0 version that downloads.
I've had this same experience on several sites I've tried to download it from today.
Does Avast keep a repository of older versions to be downloaded anywhere?
I've got the old 5 version on my hard disk. Is this still supported?

1. Interesting, I didn't know that, but I tried it myself and can confirm it.
2. None that I would know of.

When I tried to uninstall the buggy 7.0 version, I got an error message:
Error reading  product data from "C\:Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast\setup\". Setup cannot continue. and the removal failed.
However, I followed the instructions in the below link and was able to uninstall the 7.0 version and go back to an earlier 6.0 version which seems to be working ok.

Everything listed in the forum here, I’ve experienced.    In my opinion, version 7 is still in a Beta process and should “have not” been released at this time.    There are just too many bugs that need worked out.    From systems locking and having to do a hard shutdown, updates freezing, sandbox popping up, and the list could go on, and on, and on!!!    And what about this baloney that many get when they boot: “Complete Your Upgrade to avast 7, press the finish button".   My God, you have to go into the database and correct this yourself.   This is a finished product???

 I myself never download a new version that had just come out.   Just a rule of thumb, that’s all.   I had no intentions of installing 7; I wasn’t having any issues with 6.   But I wasn’t offered and “upgrade”, 7 had been installed when I went to “update” the program.   I didn’t have a say in the matter.   

After running into problems, I uninstalled 7 completely, even going into the registry and deleting all leftover entries.    I always keep older versions of programs so I went back and installed 6 again.   No problems until I did an update.   Low and behold, 7 was back.   I give up!!!

I made the mistake of not looking at the small type that said it was installing Chrome (I run IRON never Chrome) and so I needed to get a new copy of 6.0.1367.... FileHippo said it had the older version, but it didn't, click on old versions gave you the new one. Finally, because of the post here, I used OldApps and that worked eventually.

Uninstalling was a long ordeal. Chrome was not easy to remove, RevoUninstaller and RegSeeker combined along with finding some startups for Google Updates that had to be removed (part of the Chrome install).

Finally I am back to Avast 6 and happy, relatively. Hate the "you must manually opt out" check marks to avoid doing Chrome. Don't think much of Avast 7 in its early stages and will not ever use CNET again for downloads.

Oh yes, it also installed a Google Toolbar in Internet Explorer... Think I have a new term for Avast's install process:
