You leave out the most crucial piece of information what version of chrome are you using ?

If it isn't the latest stable release, version 17, then it isn't supported. The bleeding edge, beta, developer and nightly builds aren't supported, that is the same for firefox only the regular release version is supported.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.2.6105 (build 24.2.8918.824) UI 1.0.799/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

I'm also having issues with webrep coming and going on google searches. with chrome the icon up at the top stays there all the time but the search results seem to come and go at will...avast 6 last version free, win 7 64bit, chrome 17....seeing a lot of other posts having issues as well...
firefox isn't having the same problem.....
