I only want to revert back to Avast 6.x to be secured since Avast 7.x turns my computer in a NOT working environment and yes I'm continuing my support to eliminate this strange behavior.

Will the "free version" of Avast 6 automatically turn into an AIS "internet security" version once I insert my license file?

Yes, but into version 7 I'm afraid - it has to download the missing modules from the servers, and the servers only have the latest versions of the packages.
So it has to update the program, otherwise it would be in an inconsistent state.

Is this also true for an existing setup_ais.exe version 6.0.1367.0?

you mean if you change, add/remove components in an AIS v6 setup ? as said only V7 packages are available now, so you whole setup will be upgraded ... to V7. Would be a real mess otherwise (locally).

No, there shouldn't be any reason for a trial version of AIS to download anything when a license is inserted.

I still have a copy and could upload it to Google docs if it isn't available any where else.  :)
I still think you're better of with version7 and just work out the bugs. It's a much better product with many improvements.

According to the logs, there's PerfectDisk installed on Xander's machine... how about the others who had the problem, do you happen to have it, too?
Thanks.
