[SOLVED]interrupted with error 7005
« on: February 29, 2012, 03:24:03 PM »
scanning an USB stick I got the error in this thread's title.

here is a screen shot of it: http://screencast.com/t/PcE21vqoEP

RUNNING ON Mac Lion with latest updates as well as the latest Avast for Mac version.

P.S. aren't there any settings for Avast to update itself?

Thanks for report.

Probably something bad has happened to the scanning engine.
Could you take a look if there is some crash report in /Library/Logs/CrashReporter/?
Also please provide the following log files:

  • /var/log/system.log
  • /var/log/daemon.log

(They may be large, upload just relevant parts from the time the problem occurred....)

See my second post here, I really think I am missing virus definitions => http://screencast.com/t/WeuzBnjh9 or does that look the same on your system?

- No crash report in here: Library/Logs/CrashReporter/?

Here is the system.log fitlered for the string "avast"

This should not be the problem.

Problem solved by simply waiting until Avast did the automatic update and now I have got VPS: http://screencast.com/t/wyT6NGB0sxY
though I'd love to have some settings regarding the update frequency in general...

When I try to run avast I get an error 7005 with the remarks that the Engine cannot be connected (red dot) and on the other shields I get the yellow triangle.

Hello,
probably the best solution is to uninstall Avast and install it from the fresh.
