I'm now running the Trial Pro Version. After an XP Pro restore Avast would not, could not fix itself. Prior to the Windows restore, Avast was running fine. First I downloaded the fix file for Version 7, ran that, but it said "not the problem."
Following directions in the forum, I tried to start from Services = no go. Used the Avast exe in safe mode to completely remove, installed new Avast downloaded from link for version 6 reinstallation, but it downloads V7. Installed 7, but it won't accept the license file, and says it expired, but it should be good through Aug. 2013. Uninstalled again in safe mode, and went though procedure a second time = same problem. Like I said running Trial now. What to do? This is a client machine which is scheduled for return tomorrow. Help would be greatly appreciated.
