BSOD when calling up Microsoft Works 4.5
« on: March 05, 2012, 03:34:18 PM »
I thought I had successfully avoided all the supposed problems associated with A7 - however, I have now encountered a problem when trying to use Microsoft works 4.5.
Although this program is exempted on my sandbox list (and gave no problem until today) - now when I call up the program, the sandbox window appears briefly and immediately I get a BSOD.
This is happening on both my computers.
If I go to the actual works file, and call up from there - no problem, it appears as per normal. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Can you upload the dump?
Upload to ftp://ftp.avast.com/incoming and post back here for us to monitor the results.

Thanks for the offer of help TECH - in view of all the 'problems' since A7 was introduced - I am going back to Avira Premium.
I like A7 and its various features etc - but in the next 2 months I just have not got time to play with my PC's.
Will check again in 2 months to see if A7 is then a going concern, and may well re-install.
Over and out

Tech
is the following any use to you? BSOD has the following details -
0X0000008E (OXC0000005, 0X804D9B34, 0XB2D07358, 0X00000000)
Have kept one pc on A7, so was able to get the above information.
event viewer gives this as a event 1003 ER_KRNCRASH_LOG
error code %1, parameter1 %2, parameter2 %3, parameter3 %4, parameter4 %5

Will re-install works tomorrow, and see if this still happens.

Well, not really. I'm not able to analyze the dumps. You need to upload the dump to the ftp server and some of the programmers should take a look. Sorry not being of further help.

If I knew what to do - I would do it! However this is a little above my head ???

A present workaround is to switch off Avast for 10 minutes - whereupon all works as it should - and if under 10 minutes to switch on again.
