Avast Slows down my system!!

Hi i'm new to this forum...

I've been using avast since the past 6 years... and recently i upgraded from avast 6 to avast 7 free antivirus...

Now my problem is my system takes a lot of time to load the desktop... recently using avast 6 and previous versions i didnt have this problem... so pls try to solve my problem...

I'm using windows 7 ultimate x64 version... my system boots up quickly when i tried to uninstall avast... so the problem is with avast...

Did you uninstall 6 ? then reinstall 7

i've directly installed 7 as i formatted my system....

any other problems besides slowing down of system?
if not, could u list out the startup programmes u have?

go to command prompt, type in msconfig, a new window should popup, click startup entries
