Universal Androot - potential PUP?
« on: April 04, 2012, 07:03:14 PM »
My avast mobile virus scan picked up a potentially unwanted program detected: ELF:Looter-N [PUP] for the program "Universal Androot"
Now I know that this program enables android users to root their phones quickly and so it uses an exploit to root the phone.
I've googled numerous places that state that this program will display a virus warning.
I'd just like to confirm that this message is a genuine one for this program for my own peace of mind.
I'm just surprised that no-one seems to have mentioned it on this forum previously.
Any comments?

first, here is the mobil forum section  http://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=37.0   ;)

and PUP is not virus ( Possible Unwanted Program)  a program that can be used for good or bad if abused
