Avast Mail/News error 10013

Hi,

I'm using Windows 8 x64 bit upgrade from Windows 7 x64, & Avast Internet Security 7.0.1474 with Windows Defender & Windows Firewall both OFF.

I'm getting this error, & Avast doesn't scan my emails.
I've tried deleting the entries inside 'Expert Settings/Mail Shield' & rebooting, but it makes no difference.

Any one got any ideas?
I've tried uninstalling, 'repairing' 'changing' Avast to uninstall just the mail option, nothing works.

Wow! seriously, no one?

Well, till the shite stink that it Avast Internet Security  on Win8 gets sorted (BSOD, lack of router log on unless Network Script is uninstalled), I've removed AIS (for which I own a legal 3 user 2yr license), and purchased KIS 2013, from DownloadCrew.

Installed that, and voila - EVERYTHING is working perfectly.

Perhaps I'll return to Avast when it gets it house in order, perhaps I'll stick with KIS, who can say.
