Most recent update has killed my Vista PC
« on: March 08, 2012, 02:57:42 AM »
I have a number of machines and Avast Pro running on a Windows Vista machine.

Updated it to the recommended version a couple of days ago and have found TeaTimer.exe is taking 60% of my CPU
then AvastUI.exe is taking about 30%.  The machine is dead.

I rely on Avast for all security on this device so I need a way to fall back to the previous version.

Thanks

it seems that ur using spybot search & destroy. it is known to cause possible conflicts with programmes in the past even though it is supposed to be able to run side by side with other antiviruses.

moreover it uses a lot of ram/ cpu cycles, malware protection not so great recommand u remove it.

instead, install the free version of malwarebytes and run it once a week. it will be better protection  ;)

Get rid of spybot search and destroy, its a piece of junk that doesn't belong on a pc. Get malwarebytes
