Win7 64bits
M4 crucial 60gb

Hello,
i believed it was my graphic drivers who broke something in my system...
I had TDR (Timeout Detection and Recovery) issues with the latest graphics drivers so i've downgrading my Nvidia graphics drivers and just after i had this BFE random boot's issues (once 5-10 boot).

I'm "happy" to see its not graphic driver but only Antivirus.
Like a lot of SSD users, I applied some tweak for SSD :no paging file, no restore point, temp and browser cache folders moved to HDD..... I'm actually testing this patch and i'll reply only if the problem is going back.

Thanks to Avast staff for your free antivirus software that is installed on all computers that I make.

It also seems that delaying avast! service start in the Troubleshooting page also seems to help. It's not ideal since you might sacrifice some security, but i think this way avast! leaves Base Filtering service to start normally before it fires up its own service. I'll use it this way until the patch arrives with regular update.

Hi guys,
you could apply the following patch, while waiting for next Avast update. This should solve this BFE Start problems.

Lukas.

I've almost trashed my 3 (three!) Corsair F60GB2 because of this error. On several desktop or laptop configurations, these SSD practically killed me. Extremely slow boot, system freezing, network access problems and many other symptoms made me think at almost EVERY option except Avast: SSD firmware, video or audio or network drivers, bios or AHCI conflicts. While other SSD (like Patriot or Mushkin) or platter hard drives worked flawlessly, all my Corsair SSDs were a real mess!!! On several different systems! They where at a few millimeters from the trash... Fortunately, I've found this thread and this patch and now everything works as is supposed to work. Thanks and keep doing the great job. We need and we rely on your work!

I recently changed to a ssd from a 7200 rpm disk drive and started receiving the base filtering engine error. I am on win 7 x64 and version 7.0.1426.

I have applied the patch and so far no lock-ups.

Will this be taken care of in the upcoming release? Also, I was fortunate to trace this to Avast as I thought along with other posters that my new ssd might have a problem.
