Scammed into buying iYogi? REMOVE IT FROM YOUR SYSTEM
« on: March 19, 2012, 08:34:17 PM »
Yesterday after receiving excellent help from some folks here that are "techie" sweeties in my book ;), I had to leave home to attend my son's b-day party.  Before leaving, I thought maybe I should look at my network connections as some very disconcerting events where happening -- CPU was running like crazy for NO reason . Guess what? iYogi had added 7...yes 7 new network connections to my PC and I was furious!  >:(  So I completely removed the program from my system, including the registry, then from my Avast network list. Now   :) :) :) :) :)  Everything is running almost 100%--few minor glitches (like Google following me everywhere I go, even when using Firefox with my script protection--weird huh).

You can read here about how avast has dropped support with Iyogi http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=95644.0

Uninstalling the extra network connections would have solved your problem.

Thanks Craig, I knew Avast was no longer supporting iYogi, but it was still installed and running.  And yes, removing the extra network connections solved my problem.  Thanks for your input.  You, who are much more experienced than some old lady like me, are very helpful!   :)
