Create a system restore point and remove it and see what happens.
If you run into a problem, you can always go back to the restore point.
I can tell you that it's part of Windows 8 Consumer preview.
I killl the process about every time I boot up, but you cant stop it permanetly. I can tell you that it is not part of my Windows 7 Professional install at any given time... even when I have webistes that are in compatibility mode. The MS article I posted on concerns disbaling it in Vista and fully describes what 'compatibility' meausures it deals with... all remote WMI administration for asnycronous call backs. Im not to worried as the FW policiy is not enabled concerning it, but wonder more if it could end up the exploit (like conime) of the next OS.
I would like tyo simply disable it from running as a startup process, not remove it from my system.
Who knows, maybe remote connection will get a new standard (other than SSL since thats exploited and done with now) and Ill fell comfortable using it again.
