Can I use the 32 bit version to scan a partition of Windows 7 64-bit?

What I want and install the 32 bit version of Ubuntu (which is 32 bits) and scan the partition for Windows 7 64-bit that's in my notebook.

I want to install Ubuntu with the Avast on a stick.

It is possible to do what I want?

The version of Avast for Ubuntu of virus in 32-bit version can detect viruses designed for Windows 64-bit?
