Ofcourse it is asking your firewall for permission, it is after all a build in Live update future (or at least it looks like that). How do you expect it to check for updates without trying to connect? If you allow it or not, is something you must decide.

Find out to what application it belongs to and make your decission if you want to allow/keep it or not.

Hi, this program is used by many software companies both good and bad. For more info see here
http://liveupdate.openwares.org/

Process Explorer from www.sysinternals.com will be able to say which program uses liveupdate.

HTH,

Delta.

RV01:
Web-update utility as used by various types of software - see HERE.
Hope that helps.  ;D The final decision, like Eddy said, is still up to you.

You can also try this. Find the folder or file for "liveupdates" on your harddrive. Right click the executable for the program and select properties. Here you can often find who or what owns the program, when it was installed, and other information. Other times, you may not find much info at all.

I hope this helps you.
