Hi Guys,
I'm not that great at computers but recently i renewed my avast internet security subscription. After i did this i could no longer update avast. Following instructions in this forum i tried to repair the software, to which i got a 1006 (000003EE) error. I then un-installed advast. I am now trying to download the new version, but i keep getting a 'not valid win 32 application' error. I don't know what to do now! I am currently running Vista.

Have you tried running the removal tool http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility follow the instuctions there and when completed reboot back to normal mode and try to reinstall avast 7.0.1426.

It won't let me download as it doesn't have a certificate :(

Dont know why you would be recieving that notice as it's the direct installer from this forum, im wondering if maybe something more sinister is going on in your system, it could also be a problem due to UAC rights ???

I'll have to leave this for one of the members that have more experience with vista im afraid as i dont remember how to disable UAC on vista to see if that might be the cause.
