Not every program is listed on the software updater and that is the same for all Avast Program versions.  It is mainly very popular programs that are likely to be targeted.

Is the VLC Media Player even listed on your in your Avast Software list ?

A word of caution:  although the installers exist on the ftp site, the version available from the official release site at https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/ is still 61.0.2.

Official release date is 5th September 2018 and occasionally there are last minute changes, meaning the official release may not be identical to that on the ftp site today.
