Why would people need to download the full installer ?
For most users all they have to do is wait and Firefox will auto update.

Because I like to keep backups of the last two or three installers on a backup drive in case there is a last-minute problem with the latest release (it has happened many times over the years).
I also disallow automatic updates for the same reason.
I guess I'm lucky then, no issues.
If I ever did then I have my backup and recovery strategy and restore the last drive image.
