You do not have to uninstall any previous IE version to be able to install IE7 Beta 2. This is actually an UPGRADE.

Second thing... you can not install IE7 Beta 2 before you pass the validation process. If you are running pirated version of Windows OS, you won't be able to install it.

Logg files are always in the same place... right click MY COMPUTER icon, choose MANAGE. When new window is open, press on the little plus (+) sign next to Event Viewer in the left panel. Choose the section you are interested in, click on it and take a look in the right panel for results.

I'm guessing that the only way to get rid of IE7 beta 2 is if you use a program like Norton Goback?? I was thinking of downloading it, but I might have to get a back up like program if I decide to go back to IE6

It's actually the final version. People are getting this one through automatic updates.

http://www.mozillazine.org/talkback.html?article=7965

This is the AE version. The British English version is still at 1.5.

For anybody running DropMyRights, I think we'll have to run Firefox normally to get the update installed.

Actually no action regarding disabling DropMyRights was needed on my end. I simply started Firefox under DMR and went to check for updates. It started, closed down my Firefox instance, and reopened as new version of Firefox. So it looks like DMR is not on the way this time...

I haven't tried the Update option yet and I probably won't after the mess after the 1.5 update when I had to do a complete removal and clean install. So this time I will do the uninstall, boot and install.

I have done some updates of Extensions whilst using DMR with no problems in the past but I would normally switch to normal rights running of firefox for program updates. That should definitely work (not just this time...) just in case DMR stopped certain/any elements from installing.

I don't know about inter-action with DMR, which I don't use, so I won't get into that end of it. And I haven't (yet) check for this latest FF upgrade.

But don't forget that one of the biggest features of FF 1.5 was that it supposedly "learned" how to do incremental updates.  So that uninstall/reinstall mess should be history now, other than (probably) for full-version upgrades.

Yes, I haven't forgotten it, rather remembered it as the first attempt/s at the incremental update failed miserably for me and a number of others, so I'm taking no chances intill it is more mature. Heck I'm even waiting a little time before I do the uninstall/reinstall with this update and see what the feed back is first as I'm having none of the issues that this update is supposed to resolve.
