Device Administrator
« on: April 05, 2012, 03:04:57 PM »
I installed mobile security, but I'm a little confused on anti-theft and how it will affect my settings.   I am big on conserving battery life and I use advanced app killer and juice defender to stop running applications and disable data when the screen is off.  Does this affect anti-theft or even mobile security?

Also, can someone let me know device administrator entails?

Thanks,

Confused

This does not affect anti-theft at all.
The avast! Mobile Security icon on system tray (and its features: Web Shield) can be killed in the actual version on ICS Androids. But a correction is on its way and will be released soon.

Device administrator is a security setting into Android devices. You have to manually allow app to get this setting level. In common words, it blocks the common uninstallation of the application and avoid thieves to easily uninstall it. Even if it is checked, you can uninstall the anti-theft if you have its password. No worries.
