Question Regarding Behaviour Shield
« on: April 06, 2012, 05:56:41 PM »
Is it normal that the Behaviour Shield doesn't scan anything. It is on auto-decide and it hasn't scanned anything for more than 2 weeks now. Is that normal? I have done an uninstall with aswclear in safemode, but still nothing has changed. The module is running but it hasn't been doing anything.

Windows 7 64 Bit
Avast Internet Security Latest Version.
Other Security : Malwarebytes Pro, Emsisoft Anti-Malware on demand.

It used to work fine a while ago but since then it hasn't been working.

Open Avast and show statistic for Behavior Shield for last week. See screenshot.

You can set to ask and see if it detects more.

Nothing has been scanned for last week. Is there anything I can do to fix it. I have already done a clean install.

Could this problem be linked to the Script Shield. It isn't scanning anything on Google Chrome atm?

Well for me it doesn't scan very much, but from what has been said in the past the Behaviour Shield works more in conjunction with other shields rather than as an independent shield. So far today there have only been 5 files checked by the behavior shield on this XP Pro system.

Then again I have the "Monitor the system for unauthorised modifications" unchecked (so that would also limit the interaction) as I have other cover for that, my firewall and WinPatrol Plus.

Any wild card exclusion in Trusted Processes ? Any other security program you tried and then removed last week ? Because if you installed Avast! clean this is very odd.

Script shield needs BhS to work but I do not know if it is also true the other way around.

I have everything on default with Avast Firewall. I only use Malwarebytes Pro with it. But come on it hasn't scanned anything more than 2 weeks now.

I have 3 exclusions set from Malwarebytes. There are:

Mbam.exe
Mbamgui.exe
Mbamservice.exe

Hmm. I did use AVG linkscanner but then uninstalled it.

I also have those MBAM exclusions. AVG link scanner don't know, but I do not think will interfere with BhS.

Realy odd indeed.
