FORUMS - Automatically Notify
« on: April 18, 2012, 10:12:53 AM »
I cant find the setting to turn on - to automatically notify me if there are updates to a thread I have written or replied to.
Instead I have to manually click on "notify" at the top of the thread.

you see the button change to "unnotify" after you click it

You may not be able to yet, due to restrictions on new members with regards to profile actions.

Profile ->  modify profile -> notifications

There is an option to subscribe to notifications automatically when you post.

There is also an option to be notified when you post in the 'Attachments and other options' section

@Pondus :
EVERY other forum I am involved with has a section in the profile settings to do various things.
like :
"automatically notifiy you on response - once a day, immediately, weekly"
create a signature, upload an avatar/photo, see a list of forums you are subscribed to.

Ok, yea.. that is not visible in my profile.  Any idea at what point that gets turned on ?  Really annoying to create a topic, then have to go back into it to tell it to notify you of changes on the topic you just made.

20 posts I think.

When you post, if you expand the section called 'Attachments and other options' there is an option to notify on your post.
It should shorten the process,in the mean time :)

You don't need to use the Notify setting, I never do.

I use the "Show new replies to your posts" link at the top of the page and that give a list of all topics that you have either created or posted in, which have had replies since your last visit.

You're welcome, I find that much better than getting email notifications.
