Windows Vista won't load after boot-time scan
« on: April 08, 2012, 05:50:16 PM »
I ran a boot time scan on my mother's laptop and after the scan everything froze and Windows won't load. I just get a blank screen with a cursor. I can't even start in Safe Mode.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Did you take any automated actions at boot time (like moving infected files to Chest, delete, etc.)?
Do you have Windows Vista DVDs?
Maybe this help: http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/

The recovery disk I downloaded solved the problem, whatever it was.  Thank you.
