IT Security Survey 2012 - AV Comparatives - Interesting
« on: April 12, 2012, 05:33:11 PM »
http://www.av-comparatives.org/images/stories/test/survey/avcomparatives_survey2012_en.pdf

Very interesting stuff regarding AV products. Avast is over 90% in, "Which security solution would you most like to see in our yearly public main-test series?" Also, survey questions on cloud, OS, browsers, paid/free, improvements, types of tests, etc.

65.5% do not read the EULA! Imagine that?!!

I'm surprised 34.5% actually do read it. ;)

Actually, looking deeper, the survey is pretty pointed, with only a little over 2K participants.  Even more so if the survey is only presented on the AV Comparatives site, a place only "security-heads" visit frequently.

But yeah, fairly interesting.  A lot of anti-cloud-reliance sentiment going on there.

Had I completed the survey, I would have been one of the 65.5% that hasn't read the EULA (in 8 years of using avast) ;D

I've translated the EULA 10 years ago... But it worth nothing as we (they) always use the English version (lawyers... lawyers ;D).

Hi, the survey was not placed only on our site, but many other places as well (where the majority of valid responses came from). About 6% of survey participants did not even hear/know about av-comparatives (or any other testing labs) before.

Okay, thanks for clearing that up IBK.   Noticed you also culled people from the survey results who work for AV companies also.  +1 for better surveying.
