Updates not working and I cannot get the registration to work on new Avast 7

I used Ghost to return to a different OS volume. the volume was approx 3 month old,so all updates for all apps were well out of date.
and when I went to update my Avast Defs It wouldn't update, (no error)
also the MS essentials wouldn't update __SO I
I completely removed MSE.__have not reinstalled MSE,___ and removed Avast(6+) and downloaded Avast 7+, now
I cannot register avast 7 and the defs will not update,
Avast seems to be working OK and looks normal, but no registration and no updates.
help needed for this one _thanks.

could u post a screenshot of ur startup? (follow the screenshot below to get ur startup info). this could see if there is any leftovers of MSE

also, did u use avast uninstall utility to remove avast 6?

Have registered online___ I just had to keep trying until it came good, so updates OK and Reg OK.

np, however, it would still be better to make sure no MSE leftovers are present. least they cause problems in the future.
