Updating Free Version via the Programme Not Possible

I tried to update the free version when I'd been told the subscription was about to expire.
I tried ...   I tried ...

It's impossible: at 'Register Free Antivirus you have 3 paid choices and a free one.
If you press (.) or register free antivirus (...)  then clicking on [CONTINUE] has no
effect - you go nowhere.

This is rather a cynical ploy to make you buy the paid version ?

I'll try AVG Free when Avast! expires.
