Possible Virus Problem
« on: April 28, 2012, 07:10:21 PM »
Hi,

I have a big problem with my Mac, for the last two weeks it freezes all the time. I am using Avast version 7.0 (36618-3) (I just learned of a new version this morning) and I think Avast might be the reason why my Mac is freezing.  Two weeks ago after my computer start freezing, I ran a full system scan and Avast found something. It found a suspect file in the trash bin and marked it as warning. I tried to delete the file with Avast, but it tells me that it can't. When I tried to look at the content of the file it just dissapeared, tu reapeared after I reeboot my system. The can't get the entire name of the file. I just know that it begins with U=T and then other symbols, and the type of file is ALIAS.  Furthermore, since then I have not been able to do a full scan of my system. Avast start the scan, but it always freezes in the middle of it.

Is this file a virus? if so, How can I get rid of it?
Is it a problem with my version of Avast?

I will get the new version of Avast as soon as I can get to it.

Thanks for your help.

Albert
