music downloads question
« on: December 22, 2004, 12:31:33 PM »
We have 600 songs that my husband has put into folders by type.  Now after having that bit of trouble with a backdoor trojan, we are wondering how to protect his favorite music from a complete computer collapse. ?  thank you   Kelly

Back them up to dvdr(w)/cdr(w)/external drive or whatever you like.

Not sure what an external drive is ?  Also which is the easiest  and perhaps cost effective way?  How many song can be put on a CDR/W?    Thank you,

How many you can put on a cd depends on how you burn it. As data cd or music cd. Data cd (mp3) can contain 100 - 250 songs depending on the size.

If you use cdr's you need 4-5 cd's for all the songs if you burn them as data cd.

If you burn them as music cd you can put 10 - 25 songs on them, but the benefit is that you can play them in most ordinary cd players also.

External drive is another (external) Hard Disk, memory stick, even digital camera with disk drive option, or any other removable media where you can back-up your data.
