Does Avast Run in Background on a mac?
« on: May 10, 2012, 04:09:01 AM »
I have the icon showing up above, but do I have to have the application actually open (and hidden?) for it to be working?

I looked and searched before posting, but couldn't find the answer.

thx

You do not need to have the interface open. The shields run in the background and you can quickly get back to the main interface using the menu bar icon when needed

Go to the eicar.org site, upper right corner, and try downloading the EICAR test file. Yes, it works on the background, even when there's no-one logged in (or via remote SSH access).
