Hello all,
I have a daily annoyance that is caused by something conflicting between Avast and Thunderbird.
I'm running Thunderbird v.12.0.1 and Windows XP x64
After a power on or re-boot, the first email I try to send with Thunderbird results in this error message:
An error occurred sending mail: The mail server sent an incorrect greeting: concurrent connection limit in avast! exceeded(pass:0, processes:thunderbird.exe[50]).
The only way around it is to Disable Avast for 10 minutes.
Once I've sent 1 email, every other email seems fine. Until I reboot, and then it's the same problem again.
I have been in this situation for a few months now, assuming that it will resolve with an avast update, but it never does.
I have tried turning off every plugin I have for Thunderbird, but nothing fixed the problem.
I have seen this post:
https://support.avast.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=570suggesting changing settings, but tend to agree with this thread:
http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=70826.0in wondering why on earth the problem is happening!
Please help if you can, other wise I will be moving away from Avast. A product that I have used for several years not and that I recommend to everyone!
Thanks
Damian
