Expired home free 4.8

I just realized My version 4.8 free home version expired 10 days ago. It looks  I have to register again. I am using Win 98 2nd edition.
Is version 4.8 still available, if not, what do I use and how?
I had installed Avast a few years back and I forgot the process.

Wow. Might be time to get a new computer, You can download avast 4.8 from here http://www.filehippo.com/download_avast_antivirus/tech/6635/ But it probably wont work very well, Its 2012 nearly 2013 and you're still using the OS from 1998, I recommend you upgrade to Windows 7

Why does he need to download when he already has it installed

"dsubaykan" the old way of registering for 4.8 was to receive a key via email that you would insert, there should be a link provided by right clicking on the blue ball and going to register ( I think ) been a long time since I used it

Also note that support is supposed to finish at the end of this year for the 4 version so you might be best to start hunting around for another AV to use, I don't know of any off hand which still work on Win98 so someone else may be able to help you with that, there is also the other option mentioned by blakenz which is to upgrade your system as it is getting rather old and there are probably many programs that no longer work on such an out-dated system but that all comes down to your available expenses.
