Have you tried the Emsisoft support forum? They would be my first stop.  :)

have you run a quick scan with avast and Malwarebytes....... just to check?
make sure they are updated before you scan

Hi asyn.
Yes i could do that but i was thinking that this is a general program on my machine that im unaware of.
I dont believe it has anything in particular to do with OA and avast sees nothing suspicious with it.
I would like to know what it is and can i remove it.?
Im guessing it has something to do with a Drive Q which is a protected drive on my computer.
This drive i believe is connected with microsoft office.
But im only guessing.
Thanks. :-[

Hi Arnold72,

If it was me, I would tell OA to block it until I knew what it was.  It may be looking for outgoing internet access, to connect to a server out there somewhere.

Hope you can find an answer at Emisoft.

Just so you know, malware is often installed with random and undecipherable names, so....
Windows 10 Home 64-bit 22H2 Avast Premier Security version 24.1.6099 (build 24.1.88821.762)  UI version 1.0.797
 UI version 1.0.788.  Windows 11 Home 23H2 - Windows 11 Pro 23H2 Avast Premier Security version 24.2.6105 (build 24.1.8918.827) UI version 1.0.801

hi.
Problem solved.
it seems to be a application which microsoft uses to download updates to the office and excel programs.
I dont use these so ive un installed them and the problem has been resolved.
Many thanks to everyone who has tried to help me here. 8)
