How to get rid of the alerts with Outlook?
« on: December 26, 2004, 08:16:44 PM »
Hello all,

This is my first message here. I have searched the forum but didn't find the answer to my question .

I am using avast! 4.5 Home Edition with MS Outlook 2002 on XP. I would like to get rid of the alerts that pop up when I receive an infected email and to have those messages erased automatically.

I have ticked the "discard unconditionnally" and "slient mode" options but it doesn't appear to do anything.

Can you help me?

Jim,

It depends on where you did the checking!

There are 3 places that you can check off "silent mode".

One is in the Standard Shield module, another is in the Internet Mail module and the other is located in the Outlook/Exchange Mail module.  If you do not want any of the messages to appear, then I would insure that they are all checked especially as it relates to Outlook.  Yes, the Outlook/Exchange module is all you need, but checking the others makes sure you got "them all".

Good luck.

Thank you, I had only checked in Outlook so I did the same in Internet Mail and it worked.
